The issue will come up for discussion during a meeting of the Administrator's Advisory Council likely to be held on February 10.
The council advises the UT Administration on developmental issues and policy matters.
Owing to the high rates of property the Chandigarh Housing Board had last year shelved a group housing scheme launched in Sector 53.
However with a reduction in collector rates the prices of houses could come down in the city.
