The total number of cases in the city has reached 61241 of which 462 are active cases. The death toll in the city has reached 799 as the two patients suffering from co-morbidities succumbed to the virus. A total of 63 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 10 days and are asymptomatic as per Ministry of Health guidelines. As many as 59980 people have recovered from the virus so far.

Wary of the action by the administration private hospitals have already agreed to pay back the excess amount in a time-bound manner. The district administration had also asked the hospitals to conduct a self-audit of all Covid related bills and submit the report to the committee for cross checking. Gupta had also written to Health Minister Anil Vij requesting for an audit of bills issued by the private hospitals. In June last year the Haryana Government had capped the daily package rate for Covid-19 treatment in private hospitals between Rs 8000 and Rs 18000.

As per a PU statement “The university authorities advised the protesting students outside the Vice-Chancellor's office to have a dialogue with the authorities but some protestors entered into a scuffle with the security and police personnel and tried to break the barriers.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) made the forecast on Sunday based on large-scale features showing no favourable condition. The wind pattern by the numerical models also do not indicate any favourable condition for sustained rainfall over the region during the forecast period the IMD said. Moderate to severe thunderstorms accompanied by frequent cloud to ground lightning is very likely over east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during next 24 hours the IMD further said.
