      In order to raise awareness about traffic rules, two artists dressed as a ‘Yamraj’ urged commuters in Chandigarh to follow traffic rules to curb road mishaps. Dressed like the mythical character of Yamraj, ramleela artists attracted attention at the busy road, as they stopped the violators and educated them about the traffic rules. This activity was part of the 32nd National Road Safety Month-2021 (from 18.01.2021 to 17.02.2021) with the theme 'Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha'. In this regard Chandigarh Traffic Police in Association with Navyug Ramleela & Dussehra Committee has taken initiative to aware the commuters at Interstate Bus stand roundabout in sector 17 in Chandigarh, regarding traffic rules and road safety. "Despite the government trying its best to enforce the road safety rules, many people hardly pay any heed. So,this was our attempt to create awareness among the public with help of traffic police,” said the artist, adding that people fear Yamraj. “That’s why, we decided to play the role of the god of death and tried to convince people about these safety rules,” They stopped motorists and handed leaflets describing the rules.
