    • Monday Review: Tricity this week
Monday Review: Tricity this week.In the 46th edition of Monday Review, read an ABC of the pandemic's 365 days in Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula. Three reporters present the year's wrap up of their cities. March 18 last year was Covid-19's official landing in the Tricity with a woman from London. After a year of trying everything from Ebola's plasma therapy to anti-malarial drug hydroxy-choloroquine, Chandigarh is now a district of concern, wanting in contact tracing after a third spike. After 365 days, Mohali returns to a serious Covid situation. In April 2020, the cases had spiked when Sikh pilgrims evacuated from Hazur Sahib in Nanded were moved to the city. In May, however, Mohali had managed to bring active cases to zero for two days, coming closest to being declared a Covid-free district. It is caught in another spiral since May 30, with no respite. On March 21, 2020, Panchkula got its first Covid-19 case. The salon worker had to live in a PPE kit for 28 days and face a social boycott later. Sector 15 suffered days of containment. Institutes, dharamshalas, and hostels turned into Covid-19 wards that looked shabby in the leaked videos. Doctors worked without PPE kits and hungry men marched through the district to their homes hundreds of kilometres in the east. Watch the Tricity summary in three Covid-eye graphic and catch then-and-now images in the Rear-View Mirror. Keep reading TOI. To get your copy, call us at this number: 1800 121 0005.
