      Chandigarh, Dec 19 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on December 19 appealed to people to vote the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to power stating that if it wins the city's municipal corporation elections it will turn the Chandigarh into the most beautiful city in Asia again. “These garbage dump mountains, like in Daddu Majra Colony, will be removed. We'll make sure Chandigarh becomes the most beautiful city in all of Asia, yet again. Water and electricity is free in Delhi. Chandigarh will also get free water,” said Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Chandigarh.

      Amid rising concerns over Omicron variant of coronavirus, a traveller from South Africa who landed in Chandigarh, has been booked for violating home quarantine protocol, informed Chandigarh Health Secretary Yashpal Garg on December 04. “She had returned on December 1, her RT-PCR report was negative. On December 2, she broke home quarantine protocol and checked into a hotel. Her repeat sampling is due on Dec 8. The local administration has been asked to direct hotels to ask for the 15-day travel history of international travellers,” he added.

      Director of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh Professor Jagat Ram on Sept 13 said that India is at the beginning of COVID-19 third wave.“A serosurvey conducted by PGIMER, Chandigarh among 2700 children shows 71% of them have developed antibodies. It shows children won't be affected disproportionately during the third wave,” he said.
