- Chandigarh: Non - essentials shops open in Panchkula market amid lockdown | Ground Report
The Central Government has taken many initiatives to revive the economy especially by restarting small business in the country. For instance, in Chandigarh’s Panchkula, the shops are set to open for next six days from today onwards. The shopkeepers say that they welcome the move as earlier there was a provision to open shops for three days on alternative days. They say that there is a huge response from the customers and they are also following norms of social distancing. They also say that they allow only 5 customers in the shop and a guard has been deployed to tell customers to proceed one by one.Times Now’s reporter with a ground report from Panchkula’s electronic shop. - Ticket booking for trains begins in Chandigarh | Ground Report
Lockdown 4.0: The ticket booking for trains has started in Chandigarh. Some of the people who are standing in the queue claimed that they have been waiting for a long time and whereas for maintaining social distance, circles have been marked on the ground and Railway police have also been deployed to keep a check on them. On the other hand, Railway officials say that most of the booking was seen from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh on the first day. The window to book the tickets would be opened from 8 am onward till 4 pm. - Shopkeepers in losses even after relaxations in lockdown, Economy a challenge in Chandigarh?
Even though the state government has issued certain relaxations in the fourth phase of the lockdown, Chandigarh showroom owners are claiming to face huge financial loss and they claimed to face burnt of lockdown period. The owners say that it is difficult to recover the loss which they had already faced. They say that they welcome the government to move for the opening the showrooms but the government should mull over loss being during this lockdown period. - Chandigarh: Migrant workers' unending woes during the times of crisis
Migrant labourers in Chandigarh are suffering due to tedious procedures while waiting in long queues without any food or water.The Chandigarh administration has claimed to have made special arrangements for sending the migrants back to their native places but if their woes are to be talked about, it is unending as the migrants can be seen waiting in long queues. Even the medical screening check upheld at ISBT sector 43 seems to be a tedious one that has forced labourers to wait in a long queue waiting for their turn.They are first screened at ISBT sector 43 then brought in Chandigarh administration buses to the railway station.
